Following Midge Ure’s social media announcement this week that his tour would be postponed while he attends to a medical issue that necessitates immediate treatment and a recuperation period, fans of the 1980s music star are praying.
According to Ure, the problem was found during a recent standard examination.
He stated, “I never take that support for granted, and I know many of you travel great distances, often across borders, to attend the show.”I sincerely apologize if this interferes with your plans in any way.
He went on, “I’m still totally committed to doing all of the shows that are currently planned for this month, and I’m looking forward to being out there with you for as long as I can.”
Although Ure stated that he would be delaying the tour starting in September, he does intend to resume touring at some point.
He wrote, “I want to reassure you that the A Man of Two Worlds tour is definitely happening.” I’m excited to share this music with you all and want to go back on the road as soon as possible.
“My team and I are working closely with promoters to reschedule the affected dates,” he added. “As soon as we have any updates, we’ll share them on my Facebook page.” During this trying time, I respectfully ask that you respect my family’s and my privacy.
As always, I appreciate your patience, understanding, and steadfast support. It really does mean a lot.
Ure, 71, is well-known for his tenure as Ultravox’s frontman and has been performing since 1969. James Ure, the singer’s real name, has also sung with Rich Kids, Slik, and Thin Lizzy.
