Police have produced a sketch of a lady whose severely decomposed bones were discovered in York County last year in the hopes of ultimately identifying her.

The bones of the woman were found in a forested area on the 300 block of Pleasant View Road in Fairview Township on December 9, 2024.

As to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs), her remains were a near full or complete skeleton and were unidentifiable.

According to the police, the woman had strawberry blonde hair, was white, and was between the ages of thirty and sixty. It is estimated that her height ranged from 4 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 3 inches.

After examining the remains, Mercyhurst Forensic Anthropology Lab calculated that the woman passed away between 2018 and 2023. The remains have been in the area for a long time, according to the police.

Images of jewelry and clothes discovered on or next to the woman’s skeleton were made public by NamUs.

The woman had on two jackets: a black outer jacket from the Coogi brand and a black inside jacket from the ZEROXPOSUR brand.

In addition, she had on a large black Nike T-shirt, two bras (a black sports bra and a size 34B bra with padding and an underwire), two pairs of pants (gray inner pants with dark blue elastic and black outer pants with an elastic waistband and hems), and knee-high socks.

The woman had three silver rings on her hands: a bypass ring with filigree accents, a plain band, and a ring with three white stones. The woman’s bones also had a rose gold Fossil watch, black eyeglasses, and a black plastic choker necklace.

One youth size 4.5 tie-dye Nike footwear was also discovered many feet down an embankment along Interstate 83, according to NamUs.

Police in Fairview Township are requesting that anybody with information regarding the woman’s potential identity contact Det. Christopher Bickel by phone at 717-901-5309 or by email at [email protected].
