Quarterback for the Pittsburgh SteelersIn anticipation of the 2025 season and the commencement of training camp the next month, Aaron Rodgers is having teammates join him in Malibu the following week.
Rodgers made the announcement on The Pat McAfee Show Tuesday afternoon.
Speaking with McAfee and his co-hosts, he covered a wide range of subjects, including the Steelers’ offensive chemistry-building this summer.
Aaron Rodgers quipped, “I know coming out to Malibu might not be that high on everyone’s list.” However, next week we do have some guys coming out. Therefore, spending some time with them will be enjoyable.
Rodgers stated that he has been working out with veteran receiver DK Metcalf since Metcalf joined the Steelers this offseason, but he did not disclose who would be joining him in Malibu.
DK said, “I work out at 6 a.m. every day,” even though I didn’t really know him. I say, “Okay, okay.” According to Rodgers, this man is driven and disciplined. “How about eight o’clock?” I asked. as I have to drive to UCLA from Malibu. “Yeah, that’s fine,” he said.
Aaron Rodgers signed a one-year contract with the Steelers in the first week of June, and he is starting his first and only season with Pittsburgh. A base salary of $13.65 million is included in the contract, with an additional $10 million guaranteed.
Most people agree that Rodgers is among the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. He has won a Super Bowl and Super Bowl MVP, and he has been awarded NFL MVP four times.
Rodgers, a former first-round choice out of Cal, played for the Packers for the first eighteen years of his career before joining the Jets in 2023 and 2024. Prior to throwing for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions the previous season, he was sidelined for nearly the whole 2023 season due to an injury.
On McAfee’s show on Tuesday, the 41-year-old also said that the 2025 season will be his final NFL season.
“Yes,” he responded, “I’m fairly certain this is it.” We only signed a one-year contract because of this. There was no need for the Steelers to add any more years to that or anything else. In other words, this was actually about ending my career with a lot of love, joy, and peace. You know, I’ve been playing for twenty freaking years. For example, I’ve appreciated the long run.
And where better to end than with one of the NFL’s foundational teams, with Mike Tomlin, a fantastic team of leaders, and wonderful people in a city that demands success?
