According to officials, a Yosemite National area hospitality worker died after falling while rock climbing in the area.

A representative for Aramark Corp. emailed McClatchy News on Wednesday to inform them that the employee was not working and was spending their leisure time doing recreational activities. The employee was employed at Yosemite Hospitality, which is owned by Aramark.

The spokesman omitted information about the employee’s identity, the date of the accident, and the length of time they had been employed at the park.

“This tragic climbing accident deeply saddens us,” the statement read. We send our condolences to the family and friends during this trying time.

On June 25, McClatchy News requested information from the National Park Service, but they did not reply.

The agency told SFGATE in a statement that the accident occurred not long ago.

According to the news site, the National Park Service acknowledged the recent event that resulted in the death of a concession staff in Yosemite National Park. There is currently no other information available, and the situation is being investigated.

On June 19, a local newspaper, the Mariposa Gazette, first reported on the disaster.
