On Wednesday, authorities said that a coach and instructor at a Catholic school in Bucks County had been caught in possession of child pornography, leading to his arrest.
Warminster resident Richard Allen Adamsky, 65, is accused of two felonies: unlawful use of a communication service and possession of material related to child sexual abuse.
According to a police news release, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received a notification on March 30 that someone may have downloaded or obtained a picture of a prepubescent, nude girl.
After tracing the IP address to Verizon, police were able to obtain information that led them to Adamsky. On Wednesday, a search warrant was then carried out at his home.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the police, Adamsky acknowledged during questioning that he had been downloading and storing hundreds of photos showing child sexual assault to his computer for around four to five years. “Too many,” he said when asked how many photos he had saved.
Adamsky coaches kids athletics at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic School in Warminster in addition to being a teacher there.
Adamsky has been placed on administrative leave due to his arrest, according to a statement released by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on Wednesday.
According to the statement, until they learned of Mr. Adamsky’s arrest earlier today, neither the parish nor the Archdiocese had any evidence of any suspected wrongdoing on the part of Mr. Adamsky. We understand that these acts only concerned Mr. Adamsky’s personal computer devices, and there were no claims that he had physically harmed a youngster, according to information provided by law authorities.”
Mr. Adamsky’s work required him to have current criminal background checks and clearances for child abuse on file. The statement added that there had never been any accusations against him for inappropriate behavior with youngsters. These accusations are alarming and grave. In addition to working with law authorities, the Archdiocese is steadfast in its commitment to protecting the children and youth entrusted to its care and preventing child abuse. The pandemic of child pornography needs to be eliminated.
According to police, Adamsky was remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility after being arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Christopher E. O. Neill, who also set bail at $500,000. On August 4, a preliminary hearing is planned.
