Donald Trump continues to waste public funds on golf.
Since taking office on January 20, the president has reportedly spent over $53 million on his travels. Now, an additional $600,000 is allegedly being set aside to rent golf carts and temporary restrooms for Trump’s golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey.
According to federal records, the Secret Service executed two final contracts with Associate Golf Car Service of Poughkeepsie, New York, and Restroom Resources LLC of Wrightstown, New Jersey, and is spending the funds for the products, according to The Independent.
Given that the health department just declared eating at the course to be an unacceptable risk, the portable restrooms would be a smart investment.
According to reports, the Secret Service will pay $80,385 to those whose contracts expire on May 31, 2026. According to The Independent, there is a three-year option for renewal, which could cost $333,801. According to the website, the golf cart rental has a potential value of $550,930 and is available through June 2, 2026.
In order to support the security operations in Bedminster, New Jersey, the U.S. Secret Service has agreements in place for the rental of golf carts and portable restrooms, the Secret Service told The Independent. Although staff use the golf carts in club facilities, more restrooms are required to accommodate the volume of staff present. Additionally, when the club’s facilities are closed, like after business hours, these rentals permit access to restrooms in other areas of the club’s grounds.

According to DidTrumpGolfToday.com, Trump has played golf 38 times in the first 163 days of his second term, spending an estimated $53,200,000 on the game.
Indeed, even though Trump primarily uses his estates for golf, the American taxpayer is still responsible for paying for it. Trump has come under fire because of all the slicing and burning he said he was doing with Elon Musk and DOGE in the government.
If we are going to discuss efficiency, let’s start with the fact that, according to Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett in April, Trump’s golfing has cost us around $26 million as of March 30. We are not receiving anything in exchange for that, as of the last time I checked. I’ll go back to what I said, but I simply wanted to bring up the possibility that we might discuss the president’s golfing habits. While the rest of us are working hard to ensure that we can serve the American people, he has made the decision that he wants to play games.
Trump is expected to blast that sum out of the water during this second term, having spent an estimated $151.5 million of taxpayer dollars golfing during his first term.
Those are significant figures. Millions of dollars were spent on a small white ball. Which raises the obvious question of how much a round of golf costs the president.

Additionally, police boats with machine guns and a Coast Guard vessel must be summoned in to protect Mar-a-Lago, where Trump stays while playing at his courses, because it is on the water. According to the website, police enforcement and bomb sniffing dogs were among the extra expenses.
