In the Oval Office on Friday, President Donald Trump publicly showered a female reporter with affection, implying that it would spell the end of his political career.
The scene took place during a ceremony where Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo signed a peace agreement hosted by the United States. Harian Vernas, a reporter from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, was asked by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt to inform the media what she seen in her nation following the announcement of the peace deal.
Vernas told the group, “I saw hope.” Now, they have hope for a better Congo.
Felix Tshiseked, the president of Congo, wanted the president to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, Vernas continued.
Trump told an African reporter: “You’re lovely on the inside, and she’s gorgeous. Like you, I wish I had more reporters.NEsCcxQciv pic.twitter.com/
Trump claimed that was a lovely way to put it, but he went farther.
The president said, “Once more, I should not say this because it is politically incorrect.” Both of you and she are stunning.
“You know, I’m not allowed to say that,” he added. You are stunning on the inside and out, but that might be the end of my political career. Like you, I wish I had more reporters.
Although many thought Trump’s fondness for the reporter was intriguing, the peace agreement was fantastic.
“How awkward,” someone commented on X.
Another person wrote, “TACO puts the C in the word CREEP.”
Another wrote: What a (expletive) pervert. That is really eerie.
Another reader added, “To Trump, a good reporter isn’t one who investigates but rather one who flatters, smiles, and acts like the emperor’s orange ass isn’t hanging out.”
And while there were many more remarks along those lines, there were also many more that supported Trump.
One individual remarked, “So many liberals under this post are offended on her behalf.” However, she probably thinks the president is simply being nice.
Another individual said, “You must be a miserable person to have a problem with this.”
Another person remarked, “I cried when I heard what she said about hope.” God bless America and you, President Trump.
