Royal Chocolate Crepe & Waffle.

Advertised as a “neighborhood dessert haven,” the restaurant is opening in early August at the Windsor Park Shopping Center at 5202 Simpson Ferry Road in Lower Allen Township.

Royal Chocolate will carry “delicious waffles, rich chocolate creations and a wide variety of mouthwatering sweets.”

“We’re bringing melty chocolate, golden waffles, and good vibes to Mechanicsburg, PA!” reads a social media post.

Owner Sam Saidi, a self-described chocoholic, said he was inspired by dessert shops such as Juice Time in other parts of the country.

The shops specialize in crepes and waffles served with an array of fun and sweet toppings.

Saidi, who previously owned a deli in Mobile, Alabama, decided to change direction and focus on his passion for creating desserts.

Saidi said he’s hoping to open a second Royal Chocolate shop later this year in York City.

While Royal Chocolate will serve breakfast such as avocado toast and avocado, cream cheese or Nutella croissants, the desserts will likely become the stars of the menu.

A full pancake, crepe and waffle menu features various toppings such as fruits, candies, nuts and spreads.

Offerings range from strawberry and Nutella topped waffles or crepes to Oreo, Dubai chocolate, Ferrero, pistachio, Kinder Bueno, Reese’s and a namesake Royal with pistachio spread, Kinder Bueno, strawberries and bananas.

Saidi said he will make the Dubai chocolate, a popular mixture of chocolate, pistachio paste and shredded phyllo dough. The Middle Eastern dessert has become a viral sensation.

Royal Chocolate’s menu also lists cakes such as pistachio, Oreo, red velvet and chocolate and a dozen flavors of milkshakes, from cheesecake to Snickers and a lotus made with blended Lotus Biscoff cookies and creamy milkshake base with a caramel-spiced twist.

Other standouts featured on a Royal Specials section of the menu include watermelon with chocolate drizzle, nuts and fruits; grilled pineapple with tropical toppings and sweet sauces; and stuffed baked potato with savory toppings.

Royal Chocolate will also carry an extensive selection of beverages including lattes, frappuccinos, juices, smoothies and fruity non-alcoholic mojitos.

It will open at 8 a.m. daily.
