Former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker and key special teams player Bryan Braman has died,
according to ESPN
. He was 38 years old.
Braman’s agent, Sean Stellato, confirmed to ESPN that Braman has died. He had been
battling a rare form of cancer
for months.

GoFundMe page
was started for Braman in February, announcing that he was “receiving his daily IV fluids to keep his system fighting, and also receiving his chemo.”
In June, the page posted an update stating that Braman had undergone several surgical procedures.
However, he had “not been able to recover from the procedures because of his lowered immunity due to all of these treatments. By the time he was able to recover so he could continue with the chemo, the cancer has grown expedentially faster, and is now growing around his vital organs.”
Former Eagles teammates and others around the NFL supported Bryan Braman during his fight.
Former Eagles teammate Emmanuel Acho posted on Twitter encouraging everyone in Philadelphia to donate to Braman’s GoFundMe.
In addition, former Houston Texans star JJ Watt, who was a teammate of Braman’s in Houston, donated $10,000 to the GoFundMe page.
Braman and Watt joined the Texans at the same time ahead of the 2011 season.
Other former teammates who donated to the GoFundMe include former Texans offensive lineman Duane Brown, former Texans linebacker Brian Cushing, former Eagles tight end Brent Celek and former Eagles cornerback Rasul Douglas.
In total, the GoFundMe page raised more than $88,000.
Bryan Braman played college football at Idaho, Long Beach City College and West Texas A&M, before going undrafted in the 2011 NFL Draft.
He ended up signing with the Texans as an undrafted free agent and was a key special teams player in Houston.
After spending three seasons with the Texans, Braman left for the Eagles, where he once again starred on special teams.
He spent time with the Eagles from 2014-17, helping Philadelphia defeat the Patriots in Super Bowl LII.
