When speaking about the political uproar between Donald Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, California Governor Gavin Newsom didn’t mince words, stating that he finds joy in seeing the former president and his supporters falter.
Newsom brought out Trump’s well-established connections to Epstein during his appearance on Thursday’s episode of The Diary Of A CEO podcast.
According to Newsom, Epstein and Trump were close. They had a genuine relationship that went beyond a few pictures. That is simply a fact. I apologize, Donald. An actuality.
“So yeah, I get why people are outraged,” he continued. To be honest, I’m having a great time while some members of Trump’s own supporters are furious.
Epstein’s ties to influential political figures have come under increased scrutiny, which has caused significant disruptions on Capitol Hill and bipartisan reaction.
As emotions grew over the Epstein dispute, the House hastily adjourned for its August recess one day early just this week. Behind closed doors, lawmakers battled, and moderate and progressive Democrats’ public condemnation grew.
Among those criticizing the Trump administration’s handling of the matter were Representatives Gil Cisneros (D-Calif.) and Summer Lee (D-Pa.).
Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), Senate Minority Leader, joined the chorus by posting on X (previously Twitter), House Republicans are leaving town for their Epstein Recess on this first day. In an attempt to hide the story, they fled out of here. But with the lies being exposed by Trump and his administration every hour, the noise is simply growing louder.
