Nick Kurtz, the first baseman for the Athletics, went 6-for-6 with four home runs, a double, and eight RBIs in a victory over the Astros on Friday, making it one of the greatest games in Major League Baseball history.
In the Athletics’ 15-3 victory, the Pennsylvania native hit home runs in the second, sixth, eighth, and ninth innings. In addition, he doubled in the fourth and singled in the first. Both his 19 total bases and his four home runs in a game tie an MLB record. Shawn Green was the only player to reach 19 total bases in 2002.
One could argue that Nick Kurtz had the greatest game in baseball history, according to a tweet sent by ESPN insider Jeff Passan after the game.
Nick Kurtz concluded tonight’s game with at least six hits, six runs, and eight RBIs, something that has never happened in baseball’s 150-year history, according to Passan. In addition to having one more RBI, Kurtz’s 19 total bases tied Shawn Green’s single-game record. There is a legitimate claim that it is the greatest game ever made.
Before going to the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Nick Kurtz attended Manheim Township in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, for one season. Prior to being selected with the fourth overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, he played collegiate baseball at Wake Forest.
Since making his Major League Baseball debut in April, he has emerged as one of the game’s most prolific hitters.
He is hitting in July.425 with 27 RBIs and 11 home runs. Obviously, hitting four home runs and going 6-for-6 on Friday contributed to those figures.
According to the Associated Press, Athletics manager Mark Kotsay declared, “It’s probably the best game I’ve ever seen from a single player.” This child never stops having amazing moments.
Nick Kurtz is currently hitting on the season.305 with 59 RBIs and 23 home runs is a great total for any player, much less a rookie.
According to the AP, Athletics shortstop Jacob Wilson stated, “Everyone was just like, laughing.” How is he managing? This isn’t typical. At the moment, he is participating in a different sport than us. He is playing tee ball at the moment; it is not baseball.
