Hockey mom charged, banned from sports complex after confronting 16-year-old referee over call

A sixteen-year-old hockey referee who ejected her kid from a game for unsportsmanlike behavior is accused of beating a mother in western Pennsylvania.

Andrea Bucci is said to have accosted the teenager on July 20 at the Robert Morris University Island Sports Complex on Neville Island in Allegheny County.

According to online court records, Bucci, 38, of Allegheny County, is accused with assault on a sports official, simple assault, harassment, and disorderly behavior.

On September 2, a preliminary hearing is set for her.

The Bucci family is no longer permitted to enter the sports complex in the western suburbs of Pittsburgh that hosts hockey games all year round.

According to KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh, the complex manager’s remarks in a criminal complaint against Andrea Bucci state that she has had numerous issues with Bucci.

According to WTAE-TV, the 16-year-old referee informed police that he had ejected Bucci’s kid for hitting an opponent blindside.

According to KDKA-TV, which cited a criminal complaint, the referee grabbed Bucci’s son’s shirt as she pulled him off the rink.

After the game, Michael, Bucci’s husband, lunged at the 16-year-old and spat foul language at him. However, Michael Bucci was not charged.
