Since he and the Cowboys are still unable to come to an agreement on a new deal, defensive end Micah Parsonsis of the Dallas Cowboys is reportedly thinking about taking dramatic actions.
According to a Friday report by Dianna Russini of The Athletic, Parsons is thinking about asking for a trade or even declaring that he is ending his affiliation with the team.
Parsons is looking for a new contract as he approaches the last year of his rookie deal, but it appears that he and the Cowboys are not close to reaching an agreement.
Russini claims that because Parsons and the Cowboys are so far apart, they are not actively negotiating.
Although he has been present at Cowboys training camp, Micah Parsons has not participated fully.
Early in training camp, he expressed his disappointment at not having a new contract yet.
“I saw T.J. [Watt], Maxx [Crosby], and Myles [Garrett] get taken care of when you go around the league and you see these other teams taking care of their best guys – and he’s got two years left on his deal,” Parsons told reporters.
You wish you had that kind of energy because you see so many individuals in the league getting cared for.
Parsons has made the Pro Bowl each of his four NFL seasons and was named the 2021 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Following his stellar performance at Penn State and Harrisburg High, he was selected by the Cowboys as the 12th overall choice in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Parsons has been a difference-maker throughout his NFL career and was named to the first team All-Pro as a rookie in 2021 after compiling 20 tackles for loss and 13 sacks.
