In terms of Chubby Checker’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, things took a different turn.
The renowned singer, who is 83 years old, is refusing to go, which is why. Checker has actually already gotten his award, which was presented to him by representatives of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at his performance in Des Plaines, Illinois, on July 27.
Checker told his assistants to make sure he had a show arranged for that night, even though the induction ceremony is slated for November. As it happens, he had some good logic.

Checker claimed that he told the Hall, “We’re not coming,” after his manager booked him for the evening. We have a job.
Parade said that Checker was concerned about his reputation.
“I’m an old guy, probably retired, and I’m not doing anything,” Chubby remarked, referring to his visit to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Perhaps he is using crutches and is visiting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to pick up his small prize before returning home.
“No, let’s do a show like I’m doing today,” I replied, and he went on. This demonstrates that I am still alive and well, that the crowd is fantastic, that my dream is still being realized, and that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is taking place all at once.
Despite declining the invitation to attend the ceremony, Checker expressed his gratitude for the award.
