There are many country stars on the list of the world’s wealthiest performers, but one stands out above the others.
That star? People, Dolly Parton.
That’s correct, reports place the icon’s estimated net worth at $650 million.To put that into perspective, Shania Twain ($350–$410 million) and Garth Brooks ($400 million) are vying for the second-to-first position on the country music chart, after Parton.
No one has more money than Taylor Swift, who is thought to have $1.6 billion, but Parton is the real country artist with the largest fortune, by all accounts.
Earlier this year, Parade emphasized Parton’s wealth, pointing out that her success has come from more than simply her iconic songs like “Jolene.” In addition to having a lucrative acting career, she has accumulated wealth through a number of profitable books and product lines.
One important takeaway from the Parade post was that, although Parton is not a billionaire, the website stated that it has been hypothesized that she may have become one if she had not been so giving with her wealth and consistently made several charitable investments.
