A bereaved husband has posted a moving homage to a wife who sadly died in England while rescuing her 5-year-old daughter from a falling tree branch.
In Blackburn, Lancashire’s Witton Country Park, 32-year-old Madia Kauser and her husband, Wasim Khan, were out for a stroll last week with their 5-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son. Kauser was declared dead at the scene after she pushed her daughter’s pram out of the way and was hit by a tree branch.
Khan paid tribute to his late wife on Wednesday, August 20, calling her a loving mother in a Facebook post posted by the Blackburn and Darwen Police.
According to him, Kauser gave her all for our two kids, helped everyone she could, and made everyone smile whenever she walked in the door.
He went on to say that she was the love of my life, my solace, and my life companion. We created a family together, endured hardships together, and have a ton of wonderful memories.
Khan previously told The Sun that he heard a crack on Monday, August 11, while he and his son were going ahead of Kauser and their daughter. Despite the quiet weather, the outlet said that the branch collapsed.
Khan said, “I hurried to her.” She was still breathing when I attempted to save her.
First responders responded at the Preston Old Road park at 8:33 p.m. local time after receiving reports of a woman being hit by a falling tree branch, a Lancashire Police spokesperson previously told PEOPLE.
According to authorities, when emergency personnel arrived, they discovered the woman was unconscious. Tragically, she was declared dead at the site despite the rescue services’ best attempts.
The death is not being investigated as suspicious, according to authorities. An inquest into Kauser’s death is scheduled to begin on Thursday, August 21, according to the Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen Coroner’s Services.
Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward by the Lancashire Police, who are working with the Health and Safety Executive to investigate the incident.
Detective Inspector Iain Czapowski told the BBC, “This is a very tragic incident that has cost a young woman her life, and my thoughts are with her loved ones.” I would especially like to talk to anyone who witnessed what transpired on that fatal night, and I encourage them to get in touch with us.
The loss is significant for Khan and his kids.
He admitted, “I honestly don’t know how to express how much I miss her face, her character, and her presence, and I feel totally lost without her.” My one and only.
