The publication date of Iverson’s book, Misunderstood, is October 7, 2025. New York City, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., and New Orleans are among the destinations on the book tour.
I’m thrilled to say that my book tour will begin in October! I’m eager to tell you about my memoir. On his Instagram feed, Allen Iverson shared a post.
On October 7 at 5 p.m., Iverson will be at the Barnes & Noble on Fifth Avenue in New York City. After that, on October 8 at 6 p.m., he will be at Bookends in New Jersey. On October 9 at 5 p.m., he will travel to Mahogany Books in Washington, D.C. At each of those three locations, there will be an opportunity to take a picture and buy an autographed book.
As of right now, the book tour’s last scheduled stop is in New Orleans on October 10. At 6 p.m. CT, Iverson will be at the Baldwin & Company bookstore for a photo op, book signing, and discussion.
The book tour stop in New York City is sold out as of Wednesday morning. You may still get tickets for New Orleans, Washington, D.C., and New Jersey here.
According to the book’s website, Misunderstood is a gripping and unvarnished memoir by Allen Iverson, the NBA’s most misunderstood Hall of Famer, that describes his difficult upbringing in Virginia, his ascension into the league as the first overall pick, and his contentious, game-changing professional basketball career.
Allen Iverson describes his incredible journey from a poor kid in the Virginia projects to a high school champion, a protégé of renowned coach John Thompson at Georgetown University, an NBA All-Star, and the vice president of basketball at Reebok in the book Misunderstood.
In the 1996 NBA Draft, the 76ers selected Allen Iverson with the first overall pick. He went on to win the NBA MVP award in 2001 and received 11 NBA All-Star selections.
Additionally, Iverson won two MVP awards at the All-Star game. He is a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame and won the NBA scoring title four times during his career.
Iverson was flashy on and off the court during his career, which included stops with the Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons and Memphis Grizzlies, in addition to his time with the 76ers.
