Bill Maher Criticizes The View Hosts Amid Feud with President Trump

TV host and comedian Bill Maher recently said that the hosts of ABC’s long-running chat show The View may not be the finest role models for women.

Drew Barrymore was interviewed by Maher, host of Real Time with Bill Maher, on her Club Random podcast. “I don’t know if they’re really, at this moment, the best advertisement for women,” he remarked, adding that he enjoyed some of the hosts. Barrymore found the comment amusing.

Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, Sara Haines, and Alyssa Farah Griffin are the current co-hosts of The View. Goldberg and Behar were particularly appealing to Maher. Additionally, he critiqued several of the hosts’ remarks, arguing that their political commentary isn’t always beneficial, particularly during election seasons.

Maher and Republican Representative Wesley Hunt blasted the show in June when Goldberg said that being Black in America was like being a lady in Iran. The statement was deemed excessive by Hunt.

The View is now on summer vacation, but its 29th season will resume in September. In light of President Trump’s criticism, former host Rosie O’Donnell recently issued a warning that the program might be canceled. She said in a TikTok post that ABC is looking into the show’s liberal tilt, which might be a step toward its cancellation.

ODonnell further charged that the White House was attempting to stifle the program. For years, The View and President Trump have been at odds with one another. In response to Behar’s remark last month regarding Trump’s jealously of former President Obama, the White House criticized the show’s ratings and labeled her an insignificant loser.

A varied group of women discuss politics, news, and celebrity rumors on The View. Because of the diverse viewpoints of its six co-hosts, it has frequently been the subject of political controversy.
