According to authorities, a guy from Adams County is charged with six felonies for raping a girl years ago when she was seven years old and he was a teenager.
Timothy A. Shull, 25, of Aspers, was charged by Pennsylvania State Police with child rape and five other felonies in relation to assaults they claim occurred in Aspers in 2015.
The following details were provided in a probable cause document that the state police submitted on Wednesday:
Troops told the now-teenage girl that Shull had sexually assaulted her several times in two Adams County residences before telling her not to tell anyone.
The affidavit stated that following the attacks, the girl was in pain and trembling.
According to the affidavit, Shull confessed to kissing and raping the girl in Aspers when he was 16–17 years old during a May 14 interview with state police.
Shull might have been tried as a minor if he had been charged at the time. However, as he is now an adult, he must deal with the accusations in adult court. This contentious matter made it all the way to the state Supreme Court in 2022.
In that instance, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court decided that defendants who were 21 years of age or older might be tried as adults for sex assault offenses committed while still minors.
Bail was set at $250,000 after Shull was arraigned on Thursday. Christopher Snyder, the Magisterial District Judge, will hold a preliminary hearing on July 2.
