‘Children look very hungry’: Donald Trump says starvation in Gaza is ‘real’, proposes ‘food centres’

President Donald Trump promised to make sure relief reaches civilians without hindrance when he stated on Monday that the United States will assist in funding and establishing food centers throughout Gaza in conjunction with allies and humanitarian partners.

Trump said the initiative would entail working with very good people from both governments and international organizations, including the United Kingdom and European Union, to confront the worsening humanitarian crisis while speaking alongside UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at his Turnberry golf resort in Scotland.

Trump declared, “We’re going to establish food centers and we’re going to do it in collaboration with some very good people.” We will also ensure that there are no obstacles preventing people from moving forward.

Trump’s comments coincide with growing international alarm over Gaza’s food crisis. Trump cited graphic footage from the area to refute Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent assertion that there is no famine.

“I would say not particularly based on television because those kids look really hungry,” he remarked. You can’t fake that; I can see that it’s actual starvation.

Trump: Israel Bears A Lot of Responsibility

Trump emphasized that the Israeli government is largely to blame for the humanitarian toll, even if he acknowledged that Israel is under pressure because of the protracted hostage situation and alleged Hamas involvement with aid.

Starmer, meanwhile, underlined the need for immediate action and applauded Trump’s efforts.

According to the UK Prime Minister, the public in Britain is disgusted by what they are witnessing. We must reach that ceasefire. And I want to thank you, Mr. President, for taking the lead on it and for securing further aid.

Starmer demanded greater international collaboration, even if it means applying pressure on Israel to permit greater humanitarian access, and emphasized that relief must be provided quickly and in large quantities.

As the situation on the ground deteriorates, the comments reflect a rising diplomatic push by Western governments to increase aid assistance in Gaza.
