Country music star involved in crash that killed elderly woman: Disturbing new details emerge

Conner Smith, a country music artist, was the driver of a truck that killed an elderly woman in Nashville earlier this month. Some unsettling new information on the event has surfaced.

One caller told dispatchers, “They have them sitting up in the street now in front of the truck,” according to the 911 calls that TMZ was able to collect on audio following the event.

Dorothy Dobbins, who was 77 years old, was the one. According to Billboard, Smith hit Dobbins at approximately 7:30 p.m. while operating a Chevrolet Silverado, according to the police. They claimed that when she was hit, she was inside a designated crosswalk. According to reports, Dobbins passed away after being taken to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

According to Billboard.com, authorities stated that Smith’s failure to give the right of way to Dobbins seemed to be the main cause of the collision. According to reports, the performer had no symptoms of impairment. The investigation is still underway, but no charges have been brought.

Smith’s lawyer, Worrick G. Robinson, told Billboard in a statement.

Mr. Smith claimed to have been a part of a car collision on June 8th that regrettably resulted in a fatality. His thoughts and prayers are with Ms. Dobbins’ family during this extremely trying time. Mr. Smith is still fully cooperating with the current inquiry.

Following the incident, there was another call stating that Dobbins was unavailable.

The caller said, “I don’t know that (she’s) responsive or anything.”

Smith, 24, has not yet offered a personal statement on the subject. He is next scheduled to appear on July 18 in Lake Ozark, Missouri, after canceling a few shows this month.

According to Billboard, Smith’s single “I Hate Alabama” marked his breakthrough in 2021. According to the website, Smith’s song “Crawch Will Rise” peaked at number 89 on the Billboard Hot 100 last year, marking his first placement on the all-genre list. According to Billboard, that song also peaked at number 12 on the Country Airplay list.
