Country music star makes decision on tour after refunding fans, ending show early

Darius Rucker is going to get back out on the road.

The country music star’s camp told Billboard that he will next play on Saturday, July 19 in Hollywood, Florida. That comes after Rucker had to cut short last Saturday’s show in Atlantic City after just three songs.

Video showed the clearly frustrated singer

stop things on stage and address the crowd.

“Y’all I can’t sing anymore,” Rucker told those in attendance. “I will play on more song. I promise you we’re going to figure this out. You’re gonna get your money back. We’re gonna figure this out. I just can’t sing.

“I’ve never done this before,” Rucker added. “This is the first time this has happened in my 40-year career. This has never happened. I physically can’t sing, and I promise you on everything that I stand for, I will make this up to you.”

Good news is fans could be heard encouraging him on the video, and they were supportive on social media, too.

Rucker went ahead and performed his hit song before closing it down, but he returned with an announcement on Instagram on Sunday for the fans who attended.

“Atlantic City … thank you so much for coming out Saturday night,” he wrote. I feel awful and I’m so sorry — I have never lost my voice in all my years of performing.

“We looked at every option to reschedule, but unfortunately, it’s just not possible this year, so we’re issuing full refunds,” he continued. “The venue will send details to you directly. Thank you so much for all your kind messages wishing me well. Love y’all and see you soon!”

Now, following “vocal rest” his camp says he is ready to get back out there.
