In remembrance of Jerry Bell, a longtime borough citizen and former council president who recently passed away, the June 17 meeting of the Duncannon Borough Council started with a moment of quiet.
Greg Rogalski, an engineer, gave updates on a number of infrastructure projects. As part of the borough’s continuous implementation of a leak detection system, the council approved an update to the Temetra Solutions Agreement. The remaining remainder of the Noye Park Bridge repair was partially funded via a $123,497 Community Development Block Grant application. Rogalski pointed out that the borough had already been awarded $77,000 for the project.
A $147,837 salary application from DOLI for work on a water project was discussed by the council. But there were doubts about whether all the materials—especially the $45,000 worth of ductile pipe—were really used. Robert Kroboth, the borough’s treasurer and finance director, expressed concern about a possible inconsistency in the application and suggested that the item be tabulated until further details could be gathered.
