Pittsburgh –One player has stood out during the final four weeks of training camp, but the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver position is still up in the air. That would be Scotty Miller, a second-year Steeler who inked a new contract with the team this offseason after joining them last season.
Miller was cut before their playoff matchup with the Baltimore Ravens after only five receptions for 69 yards. Later on, he was added back to the practice squad. He was compelled to become an afterthought as a result, but that is no longer the case.
Miller has been called out by head coach Mike Tomlin on a few occasions, and in an unprompted response on Thursday, assistant general manager Andy Weidl mentioned how much he stood.
After a four-reception, 47-yard effort in Jacksonville, Miller continues to show that he might be worthy of a roster berth. According to Tomlin, Miller knows every area in the playbook.
“He’s familiar with every location,” Tomlin added. He is extremely well-conditioned. He is fiercely competitive. There is a lot of value in his presence because he is a person who has been there and done that.
The tight end Miller puts in a lot of effort and had another productive session against the Buccaneers on Thursday, according to Pat Freiermuth. Miller’s actions throughout his tenure with the Steelers in Latrobe are the only reason for that.
He was the backup punt returner for Pittsburgh last season and was utilized as a depth piece. Miller has emerged as a serious danger to be taken seriously during Steelers practices without Calvin Austin III there, and quarterback Aaron Rodgers has even praised him for it.
The former wide receiver for the Buccaneers is making every effort to make the roster, and it appears that he will succeed.
