WellSpan Health will be joined by a foot and ankle practice.
Later this summer, Martin Foot and Ankle intend to become part of the health system. The WellSpan name will be used to operate the four Martin Foot and Ankle practices located in Lancaster and Warwick Township in Lancaster County, as well as Springettsbury Township and Penn Township in York County.
With 14 podiatrists on staff, including two podiatry fellows who receive further training in their field, Martin Foot and Ankle has been in business for 47 years.
Following the completion of the affiliation, WellSpan Podiatry, Foot and Ankle Care will provide:
-
Three orthopedic foot and ankle surgeons
-
24 podiatrists
-
375 licensed rehabilitation professionals
-
43 outpatient locations
According to a news release from Dr. Anthony Aquilina, executive vice president and chief physician executive at WellSpan Health, “Welcoming the providers, staff, and patients of Martin Foot and Ankle into the WellSpan Health family will allow us to expand access to the highest quality podiatry care across these counties, with a care team that knows the community and one community members can trust.”
In addition to treating osteoarthritis, tendinitis, foot abnormalities, ankle fractures, and many other ailments, WellSpan podiatrists treat both adults and children.
Physical therapy services are also available at the Martin Foot and Ankle clinic in Springettsbury Township. That location will reopen at Pleasant Valley Road as WellSpan Rehabilitation, under the WellSpan moniker.
