ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett had a hamstring injury at the conclusion of Saturday’s training camp practice.
Pickett will be reassessed later this week, according to Schefter, but the injury occurring at such a bad time could make it more difficult for him to earn a starting position with the Browns.
According to reports, Browns quarterback Kenny Pickett hurt his hamstring close to the end of Saturday’s practice and is anticipated to have it evaluated again later this week. According to insiders, Pickett had a successful couple of practices, and going forward, Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders will all get more reps. Schefter wrote.
During his one start with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024, Pickett threw for 291 yards and two scores while serving as Jalen Hurts’ backup. Growing up, Pickett played for the Eagles, and he was able to win a Super Bowl with them. When the Eagles were dominating the Kansas City Chiefs late in the game, Pickett even came on.
In 30 games played during his career, Pickett has thrown for 4786 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. After playing next door at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex, Pickett, the Steelers’ first-round selection out of Pitt in the 2022 NFL Draft, was hailed as a player who may help turn the team around.
