Hershey concert showcases Jonas Brothers’ 20-year journey after stormy start

The Sunday night Jonas Brothers concert in Hershey did not experience an S.O.S. due to traffic jams, thunderstorms, or rain.

The Greetings From Your Hometown tour got off to a rough start when Hershey Entertainment released a notification on social media at 6 p.m. alerting fans to the bad weather and telling those already at the stadium to take cover.

The light briefly returned to the sky among the mayhem, and the entertainment resumed when Franklin, the youngest Jonas brother, took the stage at 7:30 p.m. He sang a few songs for a tiny audience, as many people who had been waiting for the rain started to arrive.

The All-American Rejects began their concert with Swing Swing at approximately 7:45 p.m. In a brief speech to the Hershey crowd, the band’s main singer, Tyson Ritter, talked about how much fun the group had touring Hersheypark and riding the Candymonium coaster.

How are things going for everyone in the chocolate park? “I said,” Ritter said. Give a [expletive] yes if you’re doing well!

Ritter transitioned into hits like “Move Along” and “Dirty Little Secret” as the audience responded. Before the trio performed the classic 2008 breakup smash, “Gives You Hell,” fans rocked out with the band for over half an hour.

Beginning with opening remarks in a brief video showcasing the trio’s most recent album, Greetings From Your Hometown, the Jo Bros, as many fans affectionately refer to them, took the stage at approximately 8:45 p.m.

What if I told you tonight that, according to the video narration, you are exactly where you should be? Not only in this state, not only in this city, but right now. Despite coming from many locations, streets, tales, and regions of the world, a family always manages to make it back.

As the Hershey stop officially began, Rollercoaster began a night filled with surprises, classic tunes, and special guests.

Nick remarked, “We have so many amazing memories with all of you, right here in this stadium.” Each and every one of you has played a significant role in the 20 years that we are commemorating tonight. You have our sincerest gratitude for your encouragement and for believing in the three of us.

Fans shouted and chanted the words to well-known songs like S.O.S., Sucker, and Love Me to Heaven within the first half hour of the event, demonstrating support, belief, and all of the aforementioned throughout the evening.

During the poignant song Little Bird, a fan was extremely fortunate to have Joe Jonas see her sign in the crowd and announce her child’s gender.

Joe remarked, “Girl, you’re having a little bird.” Congratulations! I’m very pleased for you.

The quartet performed the 2006 hit song Underdog after a Quakertown fan’s fan request song was selected.

Former Disney Channel stars Demi Lovato and Jessie McCartney were among the special guests the band invited to perform in their home state of New Jersey.

The elder Gen-Zers who attended Hershey were rewarded to a performance by Cartel, who traveled from Atlanta, Georgia, to perform Say Anything(Else) with the Jonas Brothers, but they were not treated to the Disney Channel mashup of their dreams. The rock group Hoobastank then performed The Reason for the audience.

The crowd was taken to what felt like a night out with loads of fists in the air, confetti flying, and EDM music bouncing off the stadium floor when Marshmello took the stage amongst all the Jonas Brothers awesomeness. Alongside the Jonas Brothers, the DJ and producer performed songs like “Happier,” “Miles On It,” and “Leave Before You Love Me.”

Then the Jo Bros returned to action, with Nick performing his 2015 hit song Jealous to start off the performance. As seen on television, Nick and Joe engaged in a song fight, or Versus Megamix, in which they performed well-known songs back and forth to determine who would win.

When Kevin declared a tie tonight, Joe laughed off the exchange and responded, Whatever. Before the night’s spectacular finale, the trio proceeded to rock with hits like Burnn Up and Year 3000.

According to Nick, we were raised in a small red-brick house on Franklin Avenue in Wyckoff, New Jersey. There was a baby grand piano, a small fireplace, and this dreadfully awful yellow couch with floral prints in the living room. Our love for music actually started when our parents and brother Franklin would gather around that piano most evenings to discuss life and music.

And with that idea in mind, the Jonas Brothers performed a touching rendition of When You Look Me In The Eyes, bringing their father, Kevin Jonas Sr., and younger brother Franklin on stage to recreate a scene right out of their living room.

Before the three members walked back down the Hershey stage and bowed as the band played them out and confetti poured down on concertgoers, the entire family, including Father Jonas, sang their hearts out.
