The Giants have distanced themselves from the protracted assessment process of former first-round pick Daniel Jones, who was cut go in 2024 and is now being replaced by a combination of rookie first-round pick Jaxson Dart and veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. In an attempt to close the gap in a difficult NFC East Division following a 3-14 campaign, New York also made a big impact by selecting Abdul Carter of Penn State with the second overall pick in the first round, an explosive pass rusher. Carter’s arrival might have an impact comparable to that of wide receiver Malik Nabers, a first-round selection the previous season who showed promise early on and finished with 109 receptions for 1,204 yards, 16 of which were for 20 yards or more, and seven receiving touchdowns as a rookie.

After Aaron Rodgers’ catastrophic experiment, which ultimately cost coach Robert Saleh his job, the Jets move on. With free agent dual-threat quarterback Justin Fields leading the offense into the future, the team now has a passing game led by No. 1 receiver Garrett Wilson and a backfield that also includes Breece Hall and Braelon Allen.
After ranking No. 3 in total defense and No. 4 against the pass in 2024, Aaron Glenn’s first-year team could once again have a dominant defense anchored by mammoth tackle Quinnen Williams and lockdown corner Sauce Gardner.
