The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that Leidy Tatiana Mafla-Martinez was arrested on Friday, August 15, while streaming from her Tesla.
Martinez was arrested because of a previous DUI conviction in Los Angeles, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told Newsweek.

Online footage captures Martinez inside her Tesla as police officers walked up, unlocked the door, and dragged her out onto the street. She has a blanket over her head and is bound face down. Before she seems to be still, onlookers can be heard yelling for medical assistance.
According to McLaughlin, the arrest was problematic because someone illegally towed a federal police car. More video shows a federal agent pursuing the vehicle while a tow truck retrieved it.
