Shortly after 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 11, the Austin Police Department was called to a gunshot at the Target located at 8601 Research Boulevard in North Austin.
Authorities stated that they were searching for a suspect who was dressed in khaki shorts and a t-shirt with a flowery design. They declared the suspect’s capture within an hour.
Police said the suspect was a 32-year-old male at a press conference. After taking a car from the scene and driving off, he crashed it. According to Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis, he then stole another vehicle from a dealership before being apprehended and taken into custody in South Austin.
Before arresting the guy, officers subdued him with a stun gun.
According to Davis, the driver of the automobile that was stolen outside the Target is thought to be one of the victims that was shot.
