Following a workout, Gunner Olszewski, a former wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was signed by the New York Giants, the team announced.
The 28-year-old Olszewski was a returner with the Giants for the previous two seasons before becoming a free agent after the 2024 campaign. He is now back with the Giants to contend for the same roster spot on this year’s squad.
He has over 2000 return yards and three touchdowns overall in his career. In 2020, while playing with the New England Patriots, he was selected to the first team All-Pro as a returner.
Olszewski’s career began in 2019 after he was signed by the Patriots from Bemidji State, where he played in Minnesota from 2016 to 2019. He spent three seasons making a name for himself in Foxborough before being cut loose and signing by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Before joining the Giants, he was cut in the middle of the 2023 season after spending the 2022 season with the Steelers, when he was designated as their return man. Olszewski, who is back with New York, will try to get the return man position and possibly even sneak in some slot wide out snaps.
