A shocking attempted

abduction

in broad daylight was captured on surveillance video in St. Augustine, Florida, showing a woman bravely fighting off her attacker after he allegedly robbed her workplace.

The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on June 29 in the parking lot of a retail strip mall. According to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office (SJSO), the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Theodore Michael Tundidor, had just robbed a store when he grabbed a female employee and tried to drag her to his pickup truck.

In the chilling video released Tuesday, the woman is seen screaming and struggling as Tundidor allegedly attempts to force her into the vehicle. Her cries for help caught the attention of a nearby resident, who immediately intervened and called 911.

Thanks to the bystander’s actions, the woman

managed

to escape, and the suspect fled the scene on foot. Authorities later tracked Tundidor down after spotting him driving recklessly near Marineland on Florida’s A1A highway. Although he initially evaded officers from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), he was eventually arrested.

Tundidor now faces a slew of charges, including robbery, attempted kidnapping, grand theft auto, DUI, and fleeing law enforcement.

The sheriff’s office praised the victim’s courage and quick thinking, noting that her resistance and cries for help likely prevented a far worse outcome.
