Owner of JD Vance’s U.K. Vacation Rental Apologizes to Neighbors for ‘Circus’ Caused by His Visit

This week, Vice President JD Vance and his security staff are coming under fire once more for causing trouble for the neighbors around their rental home on their family holiday in the UK.

Vance, 41, and his 39-year-old wife Usha paid British Foreign Secretary David Lammy a visit at his Kent home last week. Ewan, 8, Vivek, 5, and Mirabel, 3, were then taken to a historic manor house in the Cotswolds, a region renowned for its picturesque scenery.

However, the small community of Charlbury, which is home to roughly 3,000 people, saw some interruptions before the Secret Service arrived. They constructed a makeshift helipad in a nearby field, installed a big antenna behind the home, and set up checkpoints.

Pippa Hornby, the rental home’s owner, expressed regret to her neighbors for the disruption. She referred to the scenario as a circus and hoped that the Vance family’s presence wouldn’t cause too much trouble.

Often referred to as the Hamptons of the UK, Pippa and her husband Johnny purchased the home in 2017 and reside in a posh and tranquil area of England.

This tumultuous vacation occurs only a week after Vance received backlash for an Ohio birthday boating excursion. According to reports, his security team requested that a nearby river’s water level be raised so that he and his family could kayak more easily.

According to reports, before to Vance’s August 2 trip, the Secret Service requested that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers alter the amount of water flowing into the Little Miami River. On that day, Vance was photographed kayaking on the river.

According to the Army Corps, the modification was made to help Vance’s squad navigate safely. However, according to other reports, the water was elevated to make kayaking conditions perfect.

The Secret Service stated that they collaborated with local agencies to ensure the trip was safe, but they were unable to discuss their security plans. Additionally, they stated that neither the upstream nor downstream river levels would be harmed by the water change.

The vice president was unaware that the river had been elevated, according to a later statement from a Vance representative.

“Like last weekend, the Secret Service frequently takes protective measures without the Vice President or his staff knowing,” he stated.

Vance most likely wanted to blend in on his trip to the UK. Given that President Donald Trump will be visiting the UK as a state guest in September, this is particularly crucial.

Trump will be visiting the UK for the second time as president. In 2019, he made his first trip to see the late Queen Elizabeth. This time, from September 17 to 19, he and Melania, the First Lady, will meet King Charles and other royals at Windsor Castle.

A palace official stated that the King has known President Trump for many years and is excited to receive him when he was invited in June.

King Charles and his staff, according to some accounts, are concerned about Trump’s potential behavior when he is in town. Trump’s recent remarks regarding immigration to the UK and anti-Trump demonstrations during his trip to Scotland last month are to blame for this.

Trump met with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at his South Ayrshire golf course while he was in Scotland. Protesters displayed anti-Starmer and pro-Palestine placards.

In Aberdeen, a truck displayed a well-known image of Trump and Jeffrey Epstein alongside the words, “Welcome to Scotland, Donald.”
