Pa. teen charged in mass shooting that injured at least 15 people

Following a mass shooting at a park late Sunday that left at least 15 people injured, an 18-year-old Pennsylvania man is facing several charges.

Pittsburgh resident Kyree McCray has been charged with unlawful firearm possession, carrying a firearm without a license, receiving stolen property, tampering with evidence, and fleeing to evade capture.

A district court determined that McCray was a flight risk and ordered him to be detained without bail at the Allegheny County Jail. On July 3, a preliminary hearing is set for him.

Three teens were among the five wounded who were sent to nearby hospitals after the shooting in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty neighborhood around 11:45 p.m. on Sunday.

According to Pittsburgh police, ten more persons were treated on the spot for minor injuries or graze wounds from falling.

Police stated in the initial Facebook post about the event that 14 shots were discharged in a park and were detected by the city’s ShotSpotter alarm system.

Numerous victim reports flooded the 911 dispatch center as cops raced to the area, according to authorities.

Two casualties, a 15-year-old kid and an 18-year-old male, traveled in private automobiles, while Pittsburgh emergency medical professionals transported two men and a 17-year-old female who had a graze wound to a hospital.

According to a police update, all five of the victims are in stable condition.

According to the police, the investigation is still ongoing. No motive has been made public.
