The deaths of music agent Dave Shapiro and Daniel Williams, the well-known drummer for The Devil Wears Prada, in a San Diego plane crash last month shocked the music industry.
Furthermore, additional concerning information regarding the possible causes of the incident has already surfaced.
The main discovery was that the airport where they were trying to land had no functioning runway lighting since 2022. Investigators further claim that the Cessna S550 impacted power wires in misty conditions before crashing because it was too low to land at the airport. At the time of the event, the plane was only 60 feet over the ground, which was roughly 200 feet below its intended altitude.
The National Transportation and Safety Board released the information in a report on Wednesday.
All six of the passengers perished in the crash.
According to sources, the NTSB also concluded that one of the other contributing factors to the tragedy was pilot Shapiro’s failure to communicate with the air traffic controller about alternative airport weather conditions. According to reports, Shapiro said that the weather was not suitable for a landing and that he had thought about switching to a different airfield. But the story claims that Shapiro went on to say, “I think we’ll be alright.”
With no words, The Devil Wears Prada posted a heart emoji. We owe everything to you. Love you forever, accompanied with a picture of Williams following the collision, on its Instagram.
Williams claimed that he was flying back with Shapiro and shared pictures of the aircraft before it took off.
Later, he uploaded a picture of himself from the co-pilot’s seat with the caption, “Hey.” Hello, have a peek at me. I am now the co-pilot.
Around four in the morning, the Cessna crashed in San Diego after taking off from New Jersey.
