LATROBE, PA. –According to head coach Mike Tomlin, the Pittsburgh Steelers lost three defensive tackles to injuries on Wednesday. According to Tomlin, Jacob Slade, Esezi Otomewo, and Dean Lowry are all dealing with knee problems as they begin to practice defensive tackles in anticipation of the players’ absence.
To help with the repetitions, the Steelers moved DeMarvin Leal inside to defensive tackle while those injuries are being assessed. In order to improve the defense and make up for some of the injuries, they also unveiled their three outside linebacker package.
There are a few more injuries to report in that regard. Jacob Slade is being evaluated for a knee injury he sustained yesterday. Dean Lowry is being evaluated for a knee injury he sustained yesterday. Tomlin stated, “I’ll have more details about some of those guys and others a little later.”
Other players, such Logan Lee, Yahya Black, and Domenique Davis, had greater playing time during practice because those players were sidelined. They had an excellent opportunity to impress the instructors and demonstrate their conditioning.
