Matt Zenitz reports that Kyler Baugh, a former defensive tackle for Minnesota, has joined the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In December 2024, Baugh, a second-year athlete, was a member of the Atlanta Falcons practice squad. However, the Steelers called him in as a relieve for some injuries, and he never played a game.
Baugh most recently played for the UFL’s St. Louis Battlehawks, where he appeared in four games and recorded two tackles for loss and one sack.
Veterans Esezi Otomewo, Jacob Slade, and Dean Lowry all suffered knee injuries during Wednesday’s practice, which kept them out of action on Thursday. They will be assessed, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.
With those injuries stacking up, Baugh will be able to show the Steelers what he can accomplish right away. He intends to turn that into a lot more.
Baugh played in 26 games and recorded four sacks during his tenure with the Golden Gophers. During his time in college, he also contributed a force fumble and four pass deflections.
