President Donald Trump declared that if necessary, the military and National Guard might be called upon to assist in securing the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Additionally, he established a new task force to supervise the Games by signing an executive order.
In addition to local, state, and federal authorities, the task force will collaborate closely with the LA 2028 organizing committee. JD Vance, the vice president, will oversee daily planning.
Trump declared, “This is going to be so safe.” We will use our military or National Guard if needed to ensure the safety of the Olympics.
Military soldiers have also been utilized by previous host nations to provide security during the Olympics. The 2026 World Cup will be hosted in the United States, followed by the LA Games.
Trump stressed that the Games will be a unique occasion, notwithstanding recent turbulence in Los Angeles brought on by rallies about immigration. It looks like America will have a great time at the LA Olympics. He said, “It’s going to be amazing.”
Trump has become heavily active in sporting events since he was elected to a second term in January. In February, when the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles faced off in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, he became the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl. Following a terror assault in New Orleans on New Year’s Day that claimed 14 lives, the event featured a massive security effort that included the FBI, National Guard personnel, and the Secret Service.
Over 120,000 people were protected by armored SWAT trucks, rooftop snipers, and over 2,000 law enforcement officers during the Super Bowl.
