Ranking the greatest Eagles of the last 25 years: No. 16-20

Published On:

The Philadelphia Eagles have had success in the 2000s. The Eagles have won two Super Bowls, three NFC titles, and eleven NFC East division titles in the past 25 years.

The recent triumphs of Philadelphia can be attributed to hundreds of players. However, which players have helped the Eagles define the 2000s? Which players over the past 25 years are the best?

The top 25 Eagles from the previous 25 years are listed below. We unveiled the Nos. 21–25 on Monday, and DeVonta Smith, the current standout wide receiver, was among them.

When we disclose Nos. 16–20 today, who will be joining Smith and Co.? Watch this week for the remainder of the list.

20. From 1999 to 2008, Tra Thomas, OT

Thomas was an anchor on some of the Eagles’ best teams and the blindside protector of Donovan McNabb. Thomas was selected to the second team All-Pro in 2002 and was a three-time Pro Bowler (2001, 2002, 2004). In 2021, he was admitted into the Eagles Hall of Fame.

19. OT, 2000-08; Jon Runyan

It was appropriate that Runyan and Thomas were honored in the same year. Throughout his 144-game tenure with the Eagles, Runyan started every game. In 2002, he was a Pro Bowl player and, like Thomas, played a significant role in the Eagles’ run to five consecutive NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl.

18. Akers, David K., 1999–2010

One of the greatest kickers of the time was Akers. The 2017 Eagles HOF inductee set team marks in points (1,273) and field goals (294), and he was selected to the Pro Bowl five times. In 2010 and 2011, Akers led the NFL in points and was selected to the NFL’s All-Decade Team. He gave the Eagles a dependable special teams weapon during his twelve years in Philadelphia.

17. From 1996 to 2003, Troy Vincent, CB

Although Vincent began playing for the Eagles in the early 1990s, the majority of his output and honors occurred in the 2000s. A key component of Jim Johnson’s strongest defenses was Vincent. From 1999 to 2003, the 2012 Eagles Hall of Fame inductee was chosen for the Pro Bowl five times. In 2001, Vincent made the second team All-Pro, and in 2002, he was named to the first team.

16. A.J. Brown, WR, since 2022

Brown is regarded as one of the league’s top wide receivers at the moment. Since the Tennessee Titans traded for him in 2022, Brown has been extremely productive. In all of his first two seasons in Philadelphia, the three-time second-team All-Pro broke Mike Quick’s team receiving yards record. In 2023, he recorded at least 125 receiving yards in six consecutive games, setting an NFL record. Additionally, he played a significant role in the Eagles’ 2024 Super Bowl victory.
