The music icon Neil Young is not hesitant to voice his opinions, and this time he is criticizing Facebook.
Actually, as stated in a statement on his account this week, he is leaving Facebook completely.
The message said, “We are no longer using Facebook for any Neil Young related activities at Neil Young’s request.” It is unacceptable for Meta to utilize chatbots with minors. Mr. Young is not interested in maintaining any further Facebook connections.
This follows a recent Reuters investigation that revealed Facebook’s AI technology enabled chatbots to have romantic or erotic chats with children.
After Reuters revealed how chatbots might have romantic interactions with kids, Meta spokesperson Andy Stone told the news agency that its internal records are being examined.
He stated that we have explicit guidelines about the types of answers that AI characters are permitted to provide. Additionally, those policies forbid sexualized role-playing between adults and juveniles as well as content that sexualizes children.
Young has already defended himself against social media and streaming services.
However, the rock star has garnered media attention in recent months due to his offensive remarks about Donald Trump.
He unexpectedly invited the president to attend a gig during his Love Earth globe tour this summer back in June.
In a recent post on his Neil Young Archives, Young stated, “Let’s all come together and stand for American values when I tour the USA this summer, if there isn’t martial law by then, which would make it impossible.” We’re not going to put on a political display. We’ll be playing our favorite music so that we can all enjoy it together. I invite you, President Trump. As you did for decades, come listen to our music.
