Rock star backs out of Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell concert: Here’s why

On July 5, Ozzy Osbourne’s final show will feature a number of well-known and adored rock performers.

However, regrettably, one of them had to withdraw.

Wolfgang Van Halen, the lead singer of Mammoth WVH, stated in an interview with Meltdown of Detroit’s WRIF radio station that he had to cancel the performance because of a schedule conflict.

Van Halen stated, “I regrettably had to withdraw due to the Creed tour,” according to Blabbermouth. The day after, the tour begins, and regrettably, I [wouldn’t] be able to make it. I was really looking forward to seeing it, but I had to back out.

Along with the bands Daughtry and Sevendust, Mammoth will accompany Creed on their Summer of 99 tour.

Van Halen declined to choose his favorite Osbourne guitarist when asked during the interview.

Since that practically suggests you don’t like another one in contrast, I’m terrible at picking. And although I think Randy [Rhoads] was incredible, Tony [Iommi] of [Black Sabbath] deserves all the credit for being the legendary and ground-breaking genre inventor that he was and still is. I therefore adore them all. You don’t want to hear that response.

Birmingham’s Villa Park will host Osbourne’s Back To The Beginning event on Saturday, July 5. Metallica, Slayer, Halestorm, Anthrax, Mastodon, Sleep Token, and numerous other bands are scheduled to perform.
