The name Steelton contains it. The Steamrollers, sometimes known as the Rollers, are the mascot of the nearby high school. Steel has been produced there for almost 160 years, in those enormous structures along the Susquehanna River.
The community has been influenced by the Steelton steel industry. It is the primary reason Steelton exists.
