The House and Senate are working feverishly to approve what has come to be known as The Big Beautiful Bill as I write this. The proposal is approximately 1,000 pages long, and there is opposition to even having it read by the Senate. The poor will lose more than $1,500 apiece, the wealthiest will receive tax advantages of thousands of dollars, and the plan will result in a trillion-dollar rise in the budget deficit. However, there are ways to solve the problem.
