According to a CNN report, the White House has relocated the pictures of three former presidents, including Barack Obama, so that guests cannot view them.
President Donald Trump ordered workers to relocate Obama’s official image to the top of the Grand Staircase, according to sources who spoke to CNN. Only the president’s family, the Secret Service, and a few employees are allowed access to the private residence, which is reached by this stairway.
George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush portraits were likewise relocated to this secret spot.
The most recent presidents’ pictures are typically put on display close to the White House entrance so that guests can easily see them. According to CNN’s sources, Trump frequently participates in making aesthetic changes to the facility.
The shift occurs as tensions between Obama and Trump increase. Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, charged last month that Obama was plotting a multi-year coup against Trump. She made declassified emails public, saying they revealed a conspiracy by Obama and his team in connection with the 2016 probe into Russian election meddling. Trump charged Obama with treason a few days later.
The claims were rejected by Obama’s spokesperson, Patrick Rodenbush, who described them as strange and absurd. According to him, the documents did not refute the generally acknowledged conclusion that Russia attempted to sway the 2016 election but was unsuccessful. Russia has refuted the allegations.
Trump has also had disagreements with both Bushes. George H.W. Bush supported Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election and referred President Trump as a blowhard in 2017. Trump referred to George W. Bush as a failing and uninspired leader in 2021.
